The moisture of wood and timber can be measured without damaging the material, that is, without sticking a needle into the material, which is a first in Turkey, and can be easily used in forest management, pallet production companies and all woodworking areas. With 8 different MODs, it can be measured according to the type of approximately 60 different trees. The working principle of the surface type meter is based on the insulating constant and the tangent value of the power consumption angle, tan δ, being proportional to the moisture content of the trees. It is quick and easy to use.

The electric moisture meter is basically classified as direct current, resistance type (sink type) and alternating current, insulator type (surface type). The plunger type device collects the resistance between two nails and measures humidity between 2% and 70%. Different tree species, wood texture direction, temperature and penetration depth are factors that affect the measurement results. In general, horizontal texture yields smaller results than vertical texture. In practice, results tested with the horizontal tissue direction are acceptable. The density of the tree has little effect on the moisture content of the trees. For example, there is a large variation in frequency between soft bunya pine and hard oak, but very similar moisture content.
